Imation 16598 is a LTO Ultrium 2 tape cartridge. This Imation LTO 2 16598 tape has a tape length of 609m which enables a native data storage capacity of 200GB that can be expanded up to 400GB when compressed. It features the use of the next generation Metal Particulate (MP3) media formulation which improves durability and Imation’s trademark corner snap that further strengthens the tape cartridge.
The Imation LTO 2 Ultrium 16598 also has the LTO-CM (Linear Tape Open Cartridge Memory) that allows access to system information without having to insert the cartridge into the tape drive. The Imation 16598 is compatible with all LTO-2 and LTO-3 tape drives and auto-libraries in both read/write mode. It is not compatible with LTO-1 tape drives and autoloaders.
The Imation 16598 tape cartridge has an archival life of up to 30 years.
