The HP C7973W LTO 3 tape has a recording density of 245kBits/inch, a significant improvement over the previous 188kBits/inch. Data transfer rates have also increased over the previous generations 40 MB/s to 80 MB/s
The HP C7973W has a durability of at least 1,000,000 head passes.
